WEEKEND:
|
The 2023 District Service Project/Camping Trip is scheduled for Friday, April 28th to Sunday, April 30th at Fort Yargo State Park in Winder, GA.
We will be doing a service project on the Saturday morning beginning at 9:30 AM and ending around 1:00 PM. Lunch will be provided. The project they have for us this year is "different". Instead of building, we are going to assist them in tearing down an old gazebo so they can expand the native plant garden. They will supply power tools, and a crew to haul everything away. Some local volunteers may also join us. Come for the day or make it a weekend! Fort Yargo State Park is located between Atlanta and Athens. This popular park features a 1792 log fort built by settlers for protection against Creek and Cherokee Indians. Today, visitors come to Fort Yargo for its wide variety of outdoor recreation and scenery. Overnight guests can choose from fully equipped cottages or cozy campsites. For a more unique experience, visitors can reserve lakeside “glamping” yurts. Space is limited so make your campground reservations now! Your whole family is invited... kids too! |
