2024-2025 Georgia District Goals and Vision
To our Lt. Governor-elects, THANK YOU very much for your willingness to serve your Divisions, your Clubs, and the Georgia District! I know that this is going to be one of the best years you have spent in Kiwanis. I trust that as the year goes on, you will gain much knowledge on the inner workings of Kiwanis at the various levels and use that to better everyone you come into contact with.
I will be depending on you to be the conduit for information flow between the District and the clubs in your Division. I absolutely need your help in hearing all of the good things your clubs are doing in your communities as much as I need your help in hearing when clubs need help. As much as I would like to know every club intimately, it is just not possible. I expect that you will be able to do just that with the clubs in your Division. Our District has a deep well of qualified and knowledgeable helpers ready to assist, but we can’t if we don’t know where the needs are.
During this training, we will be providing you with much information that will help you to do all that you need to do as the year progresses. If you hadn’t already figured it out, your “year” as Lt Governor is more than a year. There is much you will be doing before October gets here. We hope that this weekend will prepare you for all the upcoming tasks.
As you know, Kiwanis International is the premier worldwide service organization dedicated to “Serving the Children of the World.” Your Club, Division, and the Georgia District all play important roles in making the organization successful.
My pin this year says “Where Dreams Come True.” The impact that Kiwanis has had over the past 109 years has made a positive impact in the lives of children and improved communities. For some children and communities, Kiwanis has literally made dreams come true. It is imperative that we continue to be the organization to help children fulfill their dreams and help our communities reach their potential.
I have just a few goals and some strategies to reach them:
1. Open at least 8 new Kiwanis Clubs to share our fun in new communities. Our club opening team will need your help and the help from your clubs to see us open these clubs. A number of locations have already been identified, but you probably know some areas we haven’t thought about.
2. Open at least 10 new Service Leadership Programs.Service Leadership Programs are the heart of what we do as Kiwanians. They can breathe new life into an existing Kiwanis Club. Any new Service Leadership Program; Kiwanis Kids, Builders Club, Key Club, Circle K, or Aktion Club is a way to grow the Kiwanis family.
3. At least 50% of clubs participating in Two for Two monthly.
This exciting membership growth program is easy to implement and is very effective for gaining new members.
4. End with a net increase in membership.
Getting our membership to focus on our mission statement, “Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time” will make this an easily attainable goal.
5. Increase number of Individual, Club, and Division recognitions.
There are many ways to recognize members and clubs available already. Many of these are nearly unused. We will share many of these with you to bring to your clubs. As your clubs build on the excitement of growth and recognition, your Divisions will bear the fruit.
