Past Lieutenant Governors' Association
The Past Lt. Governor's Association (PLGA) has 114 active past Lt. Governors currently in its ranks. Each member actually joins by way of paying a $15 per year membership fee. They may also choose to pay a one-time $200 fee and become a “Life Member.” We have 42 of these presently. The PLGA has been around for over 50 years. Any past Lt. Governor is eligible to join at any time. The PLGA meets twice each year – at the Georgia Mid-winter Training and again at the Georgia District Convention.
The PLGA elects officers each year. Here are the current officers:
Philip Gold Chair 2025/26
Jeannette LaFond Chair-Elect 2025/26
Neal Weathington Vice-Chair 2025/26
Mike Sullivan Secretary 2025/26
Debbie Brilling Treasurer 2025/26

Mission
The PLGA supports the Georgia District by engaging its leadership to maintain involvement in the years after serving as a Lt. Governor. Currently our focus of service is twofold.
First the organization provides all the volunteers who make up the Sargent-at-Arms at District events. More than glorified ticket takers, the Sargent-at-Arms escorts leadership, greets members at the doors, assists in the decorum of conventions and helps with ballots and microphone usage during the voting portions of the annual District Convention.
Secondly, the PLGA maintains a fund- by way of it’s membership dues/donations- that specifically targets and supports the building of new Student Leadership Programs. Money is made available in the form of grants which any club may access using our request for funds form. These monies are available in the following amounts:
Each year the PLGA gives away many grants to clubs who apply and follow the guidelines specified for the grant(s) being requested. Any club is eligible and any club make seek multiple grants.
We hope you will join us if you are not already a member of the PLGA. You know who you are. Stay involved and let’s continue to make a difference.
